I Am

I am
The keeper of dreams
And the dreamer
Of grander schemes,

The one who keeps hoping
Long after the thing,
Whose life means nothing
To those crueler beings;

I am
He who gives no heed
To the criticism he breeds,
For the freedom it brings

To be the man
Who does his own thing,
Even when it means
Alone he breathes.
