Keep On

A homily:

We tarry on,
We follow,
We keep on going

Every day,
Each hour,
At every moment

Because somehow
We are convinced
That Christ loves us.

And it boggles our mind
Floors our conscience
And stuns our soul

That perfection
Could love monstrosity
And holiness
Could desire disasters

Like ourselves.

And yet,
We keep on going
Because in spite of what we’ve done,
Christ gives us new work to do.

Christ loves us still.
