Finally

We long and we wait
We sit and agitate
For the long-awaited break

Work causes our heads to ache
And our hearts to faint
Because we’d much rather
Do anything but concentrate

Is it wrong to take another break?
What else can I decorate?
Surely we have more excuses to make —
Perhaps I ought to meditate?

No matter what the escape
And regardless of our mental state
Eventually we’ll have to face
The labors that still await.
