Just an update from the Land of the Noonday Sun…
Been working this summer at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, a great place to visit and a beautiful spot to be for a while. The work is hard but the view is unbeatable.
Today’s also the 4th of July, although it’s been raining here and I’ve been in the office all day. Here’s a thought on the holiday I recently shared on Facebook:
Well America, you’re 239. It’s been an interesting ride, but we’ve still got a long way to go. Until every man, woman, and child enjoys equitable access to the rights and privileges we so fiercely espouse and religiously enshrined in our founding documents, no matter what they may look like, what they may or may not believe, and whom they choose to love, there’s still work to be done. I’m just shy of four decades into this experiment of American citizenship, and I’m signed on to do my part for the long haul. Happy birthday.
Anyway, if you find yourself up this way, come and see us!
